√ Pumpkin Bread Recipe Martha Stewart

Ingredients

16 servings

  1. 1 cup shortening (Stork)
  2. 2 3/4 cup caster sugar
  3. 3 eggs
  4. 3 1/2 cup plain flour
  5. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  6. 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  7. 3/4 cup chopped nuts
  8. 425 grams pumpkin (1 can)
  9. Spices
  10. 1 tsp nutmeg
  11. 1 tsp cloves
  12. 1 tsp allspice
  13. 1 tsp cinnamon
  14. 1 tsp salt

Steps

1 hour 30 mins

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C.  
  2. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs & pumpkin. Leave to stand.  
  3. Sift the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda & spices.  
  4. Mix all ingredients well.  
  5. Grease & flour 2 x 9″ bread tins.  
  6. Put mixture in bread tins & bake for 1 hour or until a skewer comes out clean.  
  7. Cool on a wire cooling tray, then slice & serve.
