Ingredients
- 2 cups scald milk
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup white flour
- 5 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 21/2 packs yeast
Steps
- Combine small amount of the milk and yeast
- Add salt and molasses and blend
- Add all the flour
- What partly mixed add melted shortening
- Knead till elasticity
- Cover and let rise 2 hours
- Knead down and let rise 45 min
- Knead down let rise 15 minutes
- Put in loaf pan let rise 1 hour butter top
- Bake at 400 for 20 min
- Reduce heat to 350 bake 40 min longer.
